Compact mailfile with "reduce file size" does not work

My client have 150 MB mail file and only 2 messages in inbox. After I try Compact from administrator and console with -B options and unused space it is still 150 MB.

When this task is started anyway?I see that the compaction was done imidiatelly but with 0% result.

Can anyone tell me how can i make mail file reduced and delete unused “white” space?

Even I try with Program Document in Server Document.

THANKS FOR HELP!!!

I had a similar problem. What I did from the Admin console was:

load fixup mail\xxx.nsf -F -Y

load compact mail\xxx.nsf -B

And it works as a charm. If still this does’t work, I would archive ALL emails and then do a

“load compact mail\xxx.nsf -D”, which deletes everything except design elements. Be careful cause this command deletes all emails. Remember to archive.

Subject: The -D switch for compact just discards view indexes and does NOT delete documents

Check the trash folder, for Soft deleted documents.

Does the end user have any folders? If so, I would suspect that there are messages filed in the folders. Try File → Database → Properties and click on the i tab. That will tell you the actual number of documents in the database.
