Subject: If you don’t have the Admin Help NSF file
You can find the answer here → http://tinyurl.com/qvhkxq
Subject: What is this mean?
HI,
In the link that you gave is mention that "-s: Ignore the preserve flag for folders when replacing the design but always preserve them.
" what is this mean in real practical environment. can you assist John
Subject: Scroll further down on that page
And you find this, which I think will answer your question.
“The -s argument ignores any folder or view with the Preserve bit deselected. This bit corresponds to the “Do not allow refresh/replace to modify” option in the design properties. System folders and other design elements from the original template used to create the mail file do not have this bit set, even if the database is set to inherit from design. System folders, such as the Inbox, are not updated if you run the mail conversion utility with the -s argument.”
Subject: supporting a client?
ramkumar,
You said in an earlier post this was for a client? Are you working for a company that is supporting a 3rd party Notes customer?
Subject: Hi Ben,
No not for customer support. This to improve me. I want to learn more more on Lotus so I am trying on my Virtual PC
Subject: Hi David
I am extremely feels sorry. Its promise that I can’t understand the -s option. please can you say in your own words.
Subject: I’ve never used -s with convert
I don’t really know why someone would want to use that command either as it doesn’t update the Inbox to the new mail design or other system folders.
I’m sure there is a reason to use it but I have never needed to use -s.
Subject: F1 in the Admin client…
Gives you the Help file. Like Ben Rose has told you before, you can do searches and everything in there and it can answer all of those questions.
Subject: Hi David
