Coexistence of mail servers during migration to ND7

I currently have an I-Mail server(company.com) and a Fubared ND 6 server(ri.company.com), both of which I am going to migrate onto a single ND7 server(company.com).

I am changing everyone’s e-mail address in this process from FirstintialLastname@company.com to Firstname.Lastname@company.com. What I want to do is receive all incoming mail from the outside via SMTP on the new ND7 box then mail for someone that I have not migrated as of yet, forward that mail to their current mail server.

I know that for the ri.company.com domain I can just create a connection document for the foreign domain, however how do I handle the users from the same domain?

Any help that you all can provide would be much appreciated!

Set up ALL inbound SMTP mail for both domains to come into the new box (global domain document)

On the new box, set the smart host field in the configuration document to point to the box where the users have not yet been migrated

On the old box outbound mail can go direct OR via the new domino box as a relay. Use the config document relay settings to allow this specific relay.
