Cn name issue

Why is this not working? On my form, I have 3 fields. One field populates the sendto field. I’ve used @Name([CN]; fieldname) trying to get the shorter name. I must doing this wrong. I have an agent that looks to that field to send the form via an email. For some reason, the sendto name shows name\company@company. I just want to show the first and last name of the person. This is what the field shows but when sending the email with form, it shows name\company@company. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thanks.

Notes should not send mail to CN (common name)… the potential for delivery failure is very low if you use ‘Abbreviated’. It is normal to have CommonName/Company@NotesDomain in the sendto of a reply . If your administrators have chosen to name your NotesDomain the same as your company it could look redundant (My company has several NotesDomains). If you have only one… you could remove THAT without worry, with something like @Left(‘formula there now’;“@{yourcompany}”)

Of course you risk other concerns when you modify someone’s mailbox… I know, my company does it too, but we all wish we didn’t… when you upgrade the server, you might need to update the mailbox designs, then there is the issue with all the changes you have customized… do they work in the new design? (if you can remember them), are they still needed?, will they break something introduced in the new version?

Best Wishes.
