Subject: cluster on WAN
One of the requirements for a cluster is that the servers share a Notes (or Domino) Named Network.
A recommendation is that there be a port for users to connect to the Domino server, and a separate, dedicated port, on which the cluster servers communicate between themselves. Thus, in this scenario, the cluster port on the two servers would be configured with the same NNN. The user-to-server ports could be configured with different NNN’s for each server.
The documentation in the Help (admin) is actually quite good in this respect. As well, there is an old, but a useful, redbook that can be used for reference:
Lotus Domino R5 Clustering with IBM eServer xSeries and Netfinity Servers, http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg245141.pdf
