I have a Symphony document open. Whenever I close R8 it also closes the document. I can open and close Symphony documents freely as a standalone, but as soon as R8 is open, the closing of the document is now tied to the application. Application closes. Document closes.
This concerns me because 1) why?, and 2) if I am working on a document and Notes crashes, it is reasonable to say it will also crash Symphony and possibly an unsaved document.

The embedded version of Symphony is an extension of the R8 client. Even though the entire Notes client does not open when a Symphony document is opened, the same client processes are engaged. Since Symphony is an extension of the client, it will close when the full client is closed.
