I upgraded the client from R5 to 6.01. When I look at the mail, it’s as if the sidebar menu with INBOX, DRAFTS, SENT, TRASH, VIEWS, etc…still has the look of R5, but the right side of the screen has been updated to R6. When I select to type a new memo, it is R6. The calendar and to-do views has the look of R5 and when the client enters an appointment or a to-do function, she will get the “Illegal circular USE” error–repeatedly for 12 or more times. I have removed 6 and reinstalled, I have not ran the fixup or compact yet on this - first wanted opinions of people who are much smarter than I for this problem. I am confused that if I replaced the design of the mail file, why the calendar and the to-do would not change?? Any help would be appreciated on this! Diane

I found the fix to this problem, checked out the nsf file in Designer and found that there were duplicate templates - R5 & R6. Deleted all R5 templates and it fixed this problem…Diane

Had the same problem when I upgraded 6.01 CF eng. to 6.01 CF ger.
Fixed the Problem by deleted the ToDo/task Form and copied the original from the german template with the designer, all works fine now.

You will get this message if a script library referenced by a Use statement cannot be found.
I’ve seen this message when people upgraded to a non-english version of Notes but the folder upgrade (essential migration step) has not yet been perfomed.
In this case the “old” folders contained a Use “DocumentConversions” statment, but the script library has got a language specific postfix in Notes 6, though it has been renamed to “DocumentConversions_de-DE” in the German design of the mail database.
After upgrading all the folders everything was o.k. Make sure to read about “Upgrading to the Notes 6 folder design” in the Administrator Help.

Peter, I had already upgraded the folders to 6 - it all appears fine. There would be no reason that we would use a non-english version of Notes. Thanks for your post, I’ll go back to the Admin Help and see if I can’t find something there to help me out. I feel that the real problem is with the calendar and to-do --but since this is all within the mail.nsf file, I’m confused as to how I would upgrade only those pieces??
