Client startup error

I am getting an error upon launching the R6 Notes client. Upon launch, I get a dialog box that reads ‘Cannot create dialog box (Insufficient Memory)’. When I click ‘OK’ in this dialog, I get the ‘Unsuccessful Notes Login’ dialog. However, I am unable to open any user ID on my PC. I have the same problem with the Admin and Designer clients. This happened once a few weeks ago, and the only way I could resolve it was to reinstall all clients. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks! -Omar

Subject: Same problem - notes.ini

I ended up wiping out notes.ini from $$haslanport=1 on down and re-setting up Notes. No reinstall required. Seemed to fix it.

Subject: Client startup error - Workaround…!!

Hi,

I had the same problem after synchronizing with my SonyEricsson P900 and switching location document (which forced a change of user in this case…). Notes failed (NSD etc.) and after that I could not start Notes. It came with the dialog: “Unsuccessful Notes Login” - and I could not get around it.

Then I started to examin notes.ini and systematically remove lines :slight_smile:

The culprit appeared to be the line:

grunchapa=82529f6f8315d785

I do not know what it does - but removing that seems to solve my problem. Any way, I am up and running again.

Regards

John
