Client Reconfiguration - What is it?

Hi All. After research in Notes help, here, at Lotus10, and the web, I’m seeking to answer the question “What is the Client Reconfiguration Wizard”? This is not in notes help v8.5.2 What does the “Client Reconfiguration Wizard” do? When is a great time to use this feature and when is not a good time? Etc. I’ve seen this in different versions of notes, do not know when this was implemented. -Thanks. t398

opening your notes.ini and deleting everything below the Directory= line. Let’s you reset the client like you are doing it for the first time.

Subject: notes.ini

That’s the old standby we used to use, thanks for the reminder. I used client config wiz today hoping to get a ‘new’ lineup of everything but this did not reset things like the left hand “open list” that got mistakenly programmed w/the wrong server.

Turns out on this load we found other things not right and uninstalled/reinstalled. Not sure if the client wiz behavior was affected by it.

Subject: workspace folder

a lot of config stuff is not stored in the workspace folder in the data directory on each user’s client. you can rename or delete it to reset alot of stuff back to default.
