We have recently migrated our server to 6.0.3 and now progressively migrating clients to 6.0.3.2 users (out of aprox.50) are experiencing the problem mentioned in the subject: when they try to fill the body of a message NSD starts and client hangs. It’s “almost always” reproducible, and it happens with “new message”, “reply” or “forward” when you click somewhere in the body of message to start typing.
Our clients use the “spanish” version of the client and I’ve also tried installing an “english” version.
I’ve also compared software on these two computers with other computers that do not have the problem. I’ve also researched this forum, but haven’t found any clue.
I’ve tried almost everything during two days.
That’s driving me nuts.
¿does anyone know how can I understand the log file that NSD produces ?
¿any other idea ?
Any help will be welcome.
Thanks so much.

You’ve forget- Replace mail file design to standard (uncheck Prohibit flag everywhere except folders)
Subject: Solution: Client Hangs composing new memo, replying, or forwarding
Thank you Andrey, but that was not the solution in my case.
I’ve solved, believed or not: remove the default printer.
Technote #1139381, from Lotus Support, gave me the clue.
In my case it was an HP Lasertjet 2100 using PCL6 drivers.
No problem at the client with the printer installed locally, the problem was with network drivers.
The workstation that has the printer shared, is a W2K, uses shared drivers for “NT and W2K”, I’ve added the selection of “W2K” only on the shared drivers and problem solved !!.

Subject: Client Hangs composing new memo, replying, or forwarding ( also for Release 6.5.1)
Great! This was exellent help.
We had exactly the same problem with Notes Client. The printer is a HP LasrJet 5/5M where we recently reinstalled PCL drivers and slected “NT 4.0 and 2000”. We are running Release 6.5.1 and W2K Server and W2K and XP clients.
Followed your solution (chose another default printer at first) and Notes is stable, at least for the time being.
