Hi folks. I’ve got an issue with the client crashing when I go to write an email. If I don’t try to compose anything, the client will run all day. But within a few characters of writing something, NSD will kick in and a few seconds later the client will close. We’re running a 5.0.10 server on iSeries. I was running the 6.0 client for months with no problem. Yesterday, I upgraded to 6.01 and now crash out. Totally clean reinstalls & going back to 6.0 haven’t helped I’m afraid. I have a coworker who experiences the same thing, but 3 other test users in our department don’t have any issues. I do have some nsd log files, but I won’t post them unless someone asks. If anyone has any ideas I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
Subject: Client crashing when composing mail
Hi Mike
One of our test Notes 6 machines also suddenly started crashing … it used work just fine. If you get the
… Bad Vblock handle…
message (we do) do a search in this forum for “vblock” and check out the messages. There seem to be a couple pointers there. One is that some people have found the problem occurs with in-line HTML in received mail. In our case we have found the problem related to HTML mail that we reply to. Our crash occurs if we leave ourt reply in edit mode for just a few minutes before continuing.
Also interesting is a possible solution offered by our forum colleague which you will see when you search for “vblock” … here is a link to it:
good luck
