6.5.1 and 6.5.2 on WinXP/WinNT
i had been receiving complaints that when a user replied to an email it would go back to being unread, the “mark parent note on reply for forward” property was enabled (as it should have been) but because the “do not mark modified documents as unread” was disabled they were going back to unread. so i just asked all the users to go in and change it (there is no programatic access). the problem was they couldn’t because it was greyed out.
i had recently dropped our users from manager to designer access on their mail files. all users have local replicas of their mail files. none of our mail files has an enforced acl.
it appears that the notes client (from the client only install) enforces acls when they’re not set as enforced. if i install the client from the client/admin/designer install it doesn’t do it so they’ll have manager access to their local replica (which they should have).
has anyone else noticed this difference?
why does the difference exist?
