Clicking .ICS file opens Standard version instead of desired Basic version

Our organization has installed the Standard client, but are using ‘UseBasicNotes=1’ to prevent the Standard client from starting (until we upgrade our hardware on the clients).A user is reporting that when they click on an email with a weblink to an .ICS file, they are not getting the desired result of opening up the Notes Basic client.

Has anyone else had this issue? When I try it, it’s actually opening up the Standard client, but I have all 3 clients installed (Standard/Admin/Designer).

Any help would be appreciated…

Subject: This is a standard only feature

There is no way to double click an entry to open it in the basic client - this is a standard client only feature. If you would like you can remove Notes as the .ics association.

That said, you CAN drag an iCalendar file into your basic client calendar view and it will invoke an import.
