In each Person document there is an area containing the Notes client machine, Notes client build, Notes client platform, and the time this information was last updated.
Without writing an agent, is there a way to clear part of all of this area? Is there a danger in clearing this information?
I ask because I want to see the real spread of users in the environment. Of little use to me is a log on from 2007 or a log on using equipment no longer in inventory.
Subject: Agent required (re: Clearing Notes Client Build Information from Person documents)
Marc,
It does require an agent to clear the Client Build info (multiple fields) from the person doc AND some additional steps for the clients to insure the information gets repopulated. There is a recent technote about the client-side requirements for re-population: 1388696.
Using @Subset will return a single value, but there’s no guarantee that the value returned is the correct (latest) value.
The problem is that the fields seem to get updated in a random order. Sometimes the latest version is on top, sometimes the bottom, sometimes in the middle.
