hii’m working with intelliview and designer. i have to change some data in the form field and then write it back into the same field.
problem:
(just for testing)
tmp=doc.field_name puts the value(string) into tmp. this string has chr(10) in between. a litle over 1000 of them. when i do doc.field_name=tmp and save it, it doesn’t show it like the original. it all should look like this:
original
(doc.field_name=)
str1chr(10)str2chr(10)str3chr(10)str4chr(10)str5chr(10)str6chr(10)str7
chr(10)str8chr(10)…
how it looks like copied and saved with an agent
(doc.field_name=)
str1chr(10)
str2chr(10)
str3chr(10)
str4chr(10)
…
the intelliView doesn’t read this kind of string(copied). don’t know why. i’ve tried entering chr(13) and chr(10)(and the combinations of it) but still nothing.i know it’s chr(10) because i’ve located it with acs(string) and it returns 10. when i copy manualy(open the form, select all from the specified field, open some other document that has the same form and copy into it(the same field), save) it works fine. i know that chr(10) means exactly that(put it into another line), but how can it work within the form that is in? is there some other character that does the trick? or something totally different? any suggestions are welcome
