Checking Pending / Dead EMails via LS Code?

Does anyone know if its possible (and if so how!) to get an LS agent to go off to a server (in this case our SMTP server) and check to see the number of pending and dead emails and then report this back so that the number can be saved in a form.

What we are trying to do is have an agent that is scheduled and what it should do is:

Connect to a number of specified servers

Check the pending and dead emails

Build a table up of Server name, Server up (i.e. able to open names.nsf on server), dead mails, pending mails

EMail this to the Admin’s

Any thoughts…is the checking of dead/pending mails via LS even possible…

Subject: Why not ?

The mail.box is a notes database => I don’t see why it won’t be possible.

Just be sure the signer of the agent can :

  1. Access all the server you want

  2. Access the mail.box from each server

you can setup these as alerts using ddm. check it in admin help.
