Checkbox field

Hello,

I want a checkbox field NOT to be checked by default. How can I manage this?

Thanks,

set the field value to zero

the field has only an alias value, Notes doesn`t like this.

Well, it looks like the mere existence of keyword synonyms is not really the problem.

Consider an editable checkbox with a single choice “Do not warn me again”. With the form used as part of a dialog box and with keyword synonyms enabled for the checkbox, this is what happens:

Do not warn me again | 1 → dialog box is shown and the choice is checked by default

Do not warn me again | 0 → dialog box is shown and the choice is not checked by default

Default value for the checkbox is not used at all. This very test will fail if the form is not part of a dialog box. Tested on Windows XP SP2 and Notes 7.0.2.

It depends on what the checkbox field contains.

Imagine, if you have the following two values entered in the Choices for the checkbox field -

Test1

Test2

then when you preview in client you will see that none of the checkboxes are checked by default.

In order for you to set one of them checked then you need to give the name as Default value.

For example, if you want Test2 to be checked by default then enter “Test2” as Default value for that field.

So, it totally depends on the checkbox options you entered.

Thanks…The checkbox field has only one value and it´s checked by default, if the document is new. Setting the default value to zero, doesn`t help.

When I uncheck the field and save the document, it works of course.
