'Chat with' feature does not work inside Notes 8

I cannot get the ‘Chat with’ feature to work inside the Notes 8.0.1 client. Sametime 8 itself is working properly, but whenever I click ‘Chat with sender’, ‘Chat with all’, ‘Chat with chair’ or 'Add chair(sender) to Sametime Contact List", I get this error message: “The user was not found in Instant Messaging’s community directory:CN=xxxxx/OU=yyyyyyyy/O=IBM”. I recently migrated from Notes 7.

Can someone help me fix this problem? I don’t see it reported elsewhere.

1)Try adding IM_Use_Canonical_Names=1

  1. Restart your Notes Client for this to take effect.

Subject: IM_Use_Canonical_Names=1 did not work

Adding IM_Use_Canonical_Names=1 did not fix the problem. I am still getting the same error message.
