I’m experiencing a strange problem, some machines cannot display swedish characters when I access my iNotes account. It looks fine mostly. Any ideas what could be cousing this? I have only see this on windows 2000 machines, IE version is the same (6.xx) as in an XP working machine…???
Thankfull for any clues.

I would first check the page source in the browser, to see how the characters are encoded there, and also check the encoding that the browser is using to display the page. A browser’s source display may not be completely accurate. If you have a tool that displays the page headers and the raw data, it can provide a more useful check. For example, the free Sam Spade does this. The charset in the headers is called the encoding in the user interface, confusingly.

Well, we exactly in the same situation but with W2k machines…I’m using an XP machine but cannot recreate the problem. The only thing that seem for sure is that is not a database or server issue…
Keep in touch if you have any clues!

Same thing here…it works for some of the XP and W2K clients. But they have one thing in common, if I open the “Change Internet Password” dialog box, all Swedish characters are replaced with question marks. This remains true even if it looks okay in the inbox.I have tried this on both 6.5 and 6.5.1. It’s now an Lotus Support problem.

I found the solution today (I hope)! The problem is MDAC 2.8 on our machines anyway. MDAC is responsible for rendering of XML data. If you use any other version <2.8 it will work as designed.
IBM support has been informed.
