Is there a way to change the Unread Mail to BLACK AND BOLD by DEFAULT. I know under preferences one change it but what if one wanted that to be the initial setting.

First, a question - why?
Second, yes, but you will have to modify your mail template to do that. Then, if you ever upgrade your server, remember to apply that template to all of the people’s mail files that you wanted to have it.
And if this is an iNotes user, I think that you will have your work cut out for you.

On view properties go to third tab and you will see the choice of colors to show the unread documents.
