Changing Server Name for Mail

We are having a problem with our SMTP server sending mail to our internal network. The way the server is sending mail is from the Domino Name itself and not the DNS name. This means that the spam filters are picking it up as not a qualified name. Is there a way to change how the mail is going out to users.

Thanks

I’ve never seen this problem, but have you checked that the DNS name is properly set in server document (Fully qualified Internet host name, Notes Network Ports)?

Peter,

The Fully qualified Internet host name matches the os server name, which should be correct, but the Notes Network name is Network1 and then the Net Address is the IP of the server. To me this would be correct as well, but I am not an expert. What controls (and where is it located) how the server sends mail for notification purposes. These are web applications be designed and certain actions trigger the server to send an email. If this can’t be hanlded at the server level, can this be done on the design level?

Thanks you

Russell

One more thing. The address that the email is being sent from is the Domino server name with a % in the name of the server then the @ part.

ie abc/ab/us%ab@thiscompany.com

The % is what most of the mail filters are not liking.
