Changing server IP adress into Notes Clients

I migrated my domino server from R5 to 6 on a new machine.

My problem is my notes clients are configured with the IP adress of the old server.

I would like to know if i can substitute the IP adress automaticaly because i have about 100 notes clients and i would like do it manualy.

thanks in advance

Philippe

Subject: If you don’t mind a third-party product, take a look at Integrate!People from ICODEX

The Integrate!People has tremendous power and might a tool to control many other aspects of your Notes clients as well.

If you changed the server to a new machine, then I think you should set the machine’s IP address the same with the R5 one.

On the other hand, if your LAN or WAN support DNS, you just have to name the server the same as the old one, the Client will automatically detect the IP through your DNS server.

Hope this could help

so all the clients have set fixed ip-adresses in their location documents? easiest way to get around this would be to make sure new server has same ip-adress.

it’s much better to have dns names within client settings to avoid such problems.

I think it’s too late for you but in your case (IP address of the server is on each client), you should create a new server and use adminp to move mailboxes, then everything will be done by the server (even the modifications in the location document and desktop).

If you could’nt use this way, the easiest other way is to modify the IP of your server to the old one

Hope this helps

Bon courage !
