Hello,
I would like to change the Notes Named Network (or is that Domino Named Network now?) to something different.
I’m wondering if changing the name on my server will cause any problems from the Notes client.
On the client, I haven’t found any reference to the network name in my locations or my connection docs, but I’m still not certain.
So, can I change my NNN on the Domino server and not cause any problems for clients?
thanks,
Dan
Subject: Changing NNN (or DNN)
No the client does not have any hardcoded to remember what is the current name of NNN. The client does use the NNN so if you are making a change to excluse a server which was previously in the NNN – there would be an implication there. The client always queries on how to connect to the server when the current server’s location (like ip address) is not within the client cache.
HTH – Cheers
Subject: In general, No problem. If you have multiple servers, if they have the same NNN name
mail is routed automatically. If you change only one of them to something different, you will have to set up connection docs to get the mail routed.

Thanks guys.
I have two servers that are routing mail in that NNN, so I know I need to change the name on both servers…I just wasn’t sure about the Notes client.
cheers,
