I changed my home mail server in my company address book.
I ensured that it was changed in my notes.ini.
However “Locations” is a bit trickier. I change my Home/mail server from the old one to the new one. Ok that go back in to edit it and it’s automatically changed back.
I tried changing it in my local address book and got the same effect.
I created a new location and it keeps changing the home/mail server on that one also.

Rater than change the notes.ini edit the location doc and when you save the doc the ini will change.

I changed my home/email server from GDI01 to NOTES01, as said earlier. My mail file is replicated on NOTES01 and on GDI01. GDI01 is in a cluster with two other servers. If all three of those servers are down I cannot send email. It just insists on sending through those servers. I am the only one this affects. GDI01 is a testing server.

After changing it in your Contacts, does the home/mail server on the Mail tab of the active location document revert to the old server?

Does the home/mail server field of the Mail tab of your location document have NOTES01/ACME or the IP address of the server? It should be the Domino server name rather than the IP.
Subject: Resolution: Policy setting had the other server.
Opened up pmr. The problem was that I had a policy setting (unique to me) which had that other server listed as my mail home server. I switched to the corporate standard policy and problem is resolved.

I copied my notes.ini as a backup and removed all but the first four lines (kept “InstallType” on up).
renamed names.nsf, bookmark.nsf, desktop8.ndk, cache.ndk
restarted Notes. Still had the same issue.
Went to new laptop being spun up. Acted as first Notes user. Did the same thing, went to the old server.
