Hi,
I would like to make a change to the users location document and set the Instant Messaging Connect to ‘Manually’ for all users in the organisation unit. Is there a way I can do this? I have had a look at the desktop policy but it does not seem to allow this change.
Thanks,
Neil

I am not saying this is the best way, but you could write a postopen script within the mail file, which will check the value of the field in the location document and change it if not set
You can use the INI Environment variable to locate the correct location document, or use the $locations view and check all documents in the view
I hope this helps
Subject: RE: Change value in users location document
I have been thinking, what if I go into the administrator and edit the group policy, i.e going into Main Setup Policy and removing the reference to the instant messaging server.
The issue is we are not rolling out sametime yet but the during a test rollout the organisational policy must have been changed. I think this is what has happened. So removing this reference to the server would I think stop the logon prompt coming up? Does this seem feasible?
Thanks for the response regardless.
Neil
