Hi - I have setup several resources in Resource Reservations (7.0.2). I just found out that these resources need to be setup as Rooms rather than ‘Other.’ Is there a way to edit the resource document and change the resource from ‘Other’ to ‘Room.’ I dont seem to be able to do this, and am not really looking forward to deleting all the resources and re-creating them as rooms! Any help would be great!Thanks!

There is no built-in facility to rename the resource type. AdminP will not update the setting in the resource database. You MAY be able to programmatically access the field and change it and add a capacity, but I’ve never tried it (and it wouldn’t be supported if i fails). You’re probably left with deleting the existing ‘rooms’ and creating new ones.

You should be able to do this via the Admin client. Goto Mail-in Databases and Resources in People/Groups tab and edit the resource document.

Ah yes, thank you. I was able to change the mail-in DB entry. However, how does this update the actual resource, and when? If I go into the resource reservations database, the resources still show as ‘Other’ and not as ‘Rooms’

The admin process should update it after it runs at its scheduled interval …

May have to wait upto 24-48 hours and see if it updated your resource…

i noticed it hasn’t taken effect yet and its been an hour. Do you know what the reason for 24-48 hours is? Is this set somewhere on the server that can be adjusted?
