Change ODS for names.nsf

I have recently upgraded my server from R7 to 8.0. I ran compact -c on all the databases which has changed the ODS version to 48. But when 'am trying to run ncompact off line on names.nsf, it prompts error ‘Lotus Notes: error 0x1A5’ and nothing happens. Can any one help please?

Thanks in advance

Do you have the IBM Software Support toolbar installed? You can quickly find a possible solution using that e.g.:

http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=203&context=SW000&dc=DA410&dc=DA450&dc=DA430&dc=DA440&dc=D600&dc=D700&dc=DB510&dc=DB520&dc=D800&dc=D900&dc=DA900&dc=DA800&dc=DB540&dc=DB400&dc=DB560&dc=DB530&dc=DA600&dc=DB550&dc=D100&dc=DA420&dc=DA460&dc=DB300&dc=DA470&dc=DA480&dc=DB100&dc=DA4A10&dc=DA4A20&dc=DA700&dc=DA4A30&dc=DA400&dc=DA100&dc=DA500&dc=D200&dc=DB700&dc=DB600&q1=0x1A5&uid=swg21250665&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=all

… if the above does not work… Is this a partitioned server? If so, you might have a notes.ini in the program and data directory… Remove the notes.ini file from the Domino program directory and then the ncompact should run with no error.

Subject: No notes.ni in program directory…

Thanks for the reply. Yes, mine is a partitioned server. I have checked notes.ini exists in both the data directories of the two partitions but not in the program directory. Still the issue exists.
