Is there a way to change lotus notes password via domino server?
We have a user who left the company and we don’t have his existing password to reset to a new password.
How can we reset lotus notes password via domino server?
Is there a way to do it? Please kindly advise. Thanks!

junhan, i don’t think this is possible. which is why the administrator is supposed to keep an original copy of everyone’s id file when they are first creating. You shoul dbe using the same default password for ALL new ids that are created. That way, when things like this happen you can just scrap the users current id file, recerifty the original and use that one.

you can always just recreate the id file as well if you don’t have the original copy. let me know if you need details.

Take a copy of any ID file.Use the Domino Admin client and go to the Configuration tab. Open the tools on the right and click on ID Properties…
Browse to the ID file and enter password.
Click Your Identity / Your Names / Name Changes…
Advanced Options…
Obsolecent Name Change…
Enter name of the user who left.
Recertify the ID with the correct certifier.
Copy the public key the the person doc…

There’s a password list with my client for the default password for all userid.
Because my client have changed the password after the userid what issued to him, I’ll need to issue him the userid from the backup at the domino server. Then he can use it to change via his default password.
