Change from Roaming to Synchronize Contacts for Blackberry

Here is our situation. We have several associates who are set up as roaming users for the sole purpose of having their contacts put onto their blackberry.

With 8.5, we can now use the synchronize contacts feature instead. The main concern we have is if we de-roam the person, the enable this feature, will it duplicate contacts on the blackberry?

Has anyone else gone through this?

Subject: I was also worried about this

Here’s what we are doing:1. De-Roam 6.5.4 Users

  1. Upgrade client to 8.5.1

  2. Migrate user to 8.5.1 server.

  3. Upgrade mail template and sync contacts via policy.

  4. Manually changing the address book on BES to point towards user mail file.

Has worked without duplicating address books.

Subject: Sounds good

After you de-roamed your associates, did the contacts remove themselves from the BB?

Subject: contacts

contacts in BB don’t get removed but starts syncing after you point it to mail file.
