Hello,
I am a complete novice with Domino, so please forgive my ignorance. I set up a Domino server for test purposes and now have a reason to use it to host a database for my team. I need it to authenticate users based on their Lotus IDs. Right now it can’t verify the public keys and so everyone appears as Anonymous, which makes it hard to do anything with the ACL. I have been reading about cross certifying but I find that I don’t know enough to get it working. I do not have any kind of control over the servers that would normally authenticate the users. Is that a problem? What steps do I need to take?
Any help would be appreciated.
Subject: certifying users
Hi,
you don’t need to other Domino server, by the way why don’t use your time these Domino Server to hosts their databases?
However, if the user access your server via their Notes Client than the user has to accept the cross-certification creation message that appear on their system.
BUT, also you have to cross-certify the users. To do this you will use a save copy of their ID-File. To create a save copy of a ID File use the File - Security - User Security Dialog!
Than in your Admin Client go to the configuration tab and in the tools (on the right side) you find certification - cross-certification. There you can create that cross-certificate for each user.
