Centering text in a Frame

Hi

I have the following frames

±--------------------------------------------------+

!..Header…!

±----------------±-------------------------------+

!..!..!

!..Navigation…!..Documents…!

!..!..!

!..!..!

!..!..!

±----------------±-------------------------------+

in the header frame I have general info stuff - the number of documents, logged on user etc etc. I use the Default Sans Serif font to display the contents. Due to the fact that some people have Verdana and others Tomaha als their default font the header is not centered. I have created a table that is only 1 row high - inserted the text in the table and centered the text - unfortunately the text is still not centered (the table does not center in the frame.

Anybody have any idea how I can center the text in the frame - and yes, I want it centered horizontally and vertically. Horizontally is not a problem, vertically is!

Thanking you in advance for any help given

ps: I asked a similar question some time ago where I got the answer that I could use HTML for the table. I did try that (with pass-through HTML for the Notes Client) but could never get it working… if the answer is HTML could somebody please post the HTML that I would need. Thanks

If you have a one cell table, just set the paragraph to center horizontally and the table cell to center vertically, then set the height for both Notes client and web. Like the table below (except that you will set your row height to the height of the frame and turn off the borders):

The content I want centered

First, set the text to centered:

Second, set the table to vertically align and have a minimum row height (for Notes client):

Third, set the HTML CSS style for the table cell to a row height, since the Notes client setting doesn’t seem to translate to HTML properly.

Hello Ben

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question.

I already had the setup you suggested - the problem with that setup is that the height of the table is in cm (well, inches your side of the pond ;o) - the frame height is in pixels. Now that in itself is not a problem (I just played with the settings a bit to get it centered as you suggest), what is a problem is that not all screens are set to 96 dpi (it’s found in the windows settings). Now that does screw up things. One of my users is visually impared and has set her screen to 120 DPI which gives her bigger fonts. This kills the application as the text in the table is now bigger, the table / frame has stayed the same size because it’s in pixels or cm.

What I would have liked is to create the frame at 10 % of the screen. Currently the contents of the frame is a page - on the page I have the table. I wanted to set the table (the one on the page) to something like height 100%, width 100%. On the page I was hoping that I would see the table such that it fills the entire work area. When the page is displayed in the frame it would then shrink as needed!

Anyway, thank you again for answering, any other ideas ;o)
