Categorize Button gives no error

Usually I get an error when I use the Categorize Button in a view in case the first column is not the categories field but now I get a a listbox showing all values of the first column to choose from. Of course it still only changes the categories field which is complete nonsense. Any idea what is happening?

BTW: I checked that the button is using the system command.

I personally have never thought that particular system command was good for much, and I never enable it in an application.
