Categorised Column Totals

I have a view where columns 1 and 2 are categorised.

Column 1 is categorised by “DocID” and column 2 is categorised by “DocSatus”. I have a third column which has displays a value of 1 per document and I have this column showing a total, with Hide Detail Rows checked.

The view is embedded into a form and shows a single category of DocID, so when on the form, it shows the total number of documents (thanks to the default 1) per status, which is what I want, however, the columns are expandable, which I don’t want, I simply want the view to show:

DocStatus Number of Docs

Status 1 5

Status 2 3

Status 3 1

where if a user double clicks on the status 1 heading it won’t expand…

Can this be done?

Hi David!You could check my forum question 26/11/2006 title “Disable to Expand view column”. Maybe Andre’s answer helps You?

Subject: Categorised Column Totals

Hi,I had something similar, and instead of an embedded view I used @DbLookup. I create a view where the first column has a fomula like @Text(DocId) + @Text(Status) and 1 in the second column.

Instead of the view have a field with a formula like this

OrigList := @Unique(@Text(@DbColumn(“”:“NoCache”;“”:“”;“buetd”;1)));

@For(n := 1; n <= @Elements(OrigList);n := n+1;

@Do(sum := Sum(@DbLookup(“”:“NoCache”;“”:“”;“viewname”;OrigList[n];2));

list := list + “” + @Text(OrigList[n]) + " + @Text(sum) ));

list

This is not 100% as it is for web as you can see on the “list” variable with all the 's, but maybe gives you an idea what I’m thinking of.
