Can't view dead messages in mail.box

I started getting messages stating that I had 65 dead messages on my SMTP server in the mail.box. I check my mail.box and it will be empty. I have manager rights to the mail.box. I have searched the forum and tried a few things. I have tried the Shift + CTRL + F9 and compacting the database. These don’t seem to work. I can go into the hidden view called ($VIM100) and see all the documents. I can’t view the document properties, open the documents, nor can I delete them. Does anyone else have this problem and know what the actual problem is?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can prove replace or refresh design. Before do it you should stop router task.

Ladislao.

Subject: or try “lo fixup mail.box” and yes, shut down the router first.

Subject: Can’t view dead messages in mail.box

I tried everything anyone suggested in all of the posts and finally I have given up. I am going to delete my mail.boxes and let Domino recreate them. Sh server reports that I have 331 dead mail messages. The mail views show 20 of them.

By the way, the log shows that every night mail1.box and mail2.box are faithfully compacted but actually, no compaction is occuring. When I manually compacted the mail.boxes today, the space was recovered. (But my unviewable dead mail stubbornly remained!)

Stuff like that makes me go hmmmm…
