Can't send/receive SMTP mails & Error Message on Server Startup

Hello all,

Please I need your assistance. We just setup a new domino server running on Linux OS. Every other thing seems to be working fine except sending and receiving SMTP mails.

When we try sending email out to another domain, the following error message appears:

No route is known from this host to the destination address…

We can ping the SMTP server from the Domino server and all the settings on the server appear to be correct.

Again, we observed that when the server is starting up, it reports the following error messages:

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/fs/file-max.

errno: 13

Permission denied

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax.

errno: 13

Permission denied

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/kernel/sem.

errno: 13

Permission denied

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_fin_timeout.

errno: 13

Permission denied

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_max_syn_backlog.

errno: 13

Permission denied

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_tw_reuse

errno: 13

Permission denied

Error - can’t open /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range.

errno: 13

Permission denied

I wouldn’t know if the error messages are the reason the SMTP mails are not routing.

I will deeply appreciate if anyone can help out on how to resolve these issues.

Thanks in anticipation.

Austine.

Hi Austine

You have said - Release: 8.0

But

I notice you have posted this in the 6 & 7 forum, what version of domino are you actually using ?
