Normally when you select an email and drag it over to your folders if you start to move it toward the bottom the window it scrolls down so you can see the rest of your folders. I have a user who has a problem with this. Randomly this function just doesn’t work. He can still drag an email to a folder that’s visible on the left pane. But if he tries to scroll up or down it won’t allow him to. If he closes his client and goes back in it will usually work, but we can’t figure out why it’s randomly stopping. Any ideas?
Subject: Re: Folder Scrolling
Hi Michael,
I have seen this issue occur when the Navigation Pane (Where the Views/Folder in a Mail File are listed) has been expanded to more than it’s default size.
For example, open a mail file that has multiple folders and necessitates Scrolling to see them all. Expand the folders so that you need to scroll to see them. Now, click on the side portion of the Navigation Pane that will allow you to adjust the width. From there, expand the width so that it takes up about half of the view of the Inbox. From there, select a message in the Inbox and try to drag it into the Navigation Pane and scroll down - you cannot scroll down. If you return the Navigation Pane to it’s regular size, the functionality will work normally.
I believe this is the issue documented in Software Problem Report (SPR) RSOI65FDC6 - “Drag & drop of mails to folder, where you have to scroll doesn’t work if the navigation pane is wider than default”
I am unsure if this is resolved, pending, etc. If you would like that issue investigated, I would suggest calling into IBM Support and request the Client Team. They can troubleshoot the issue and, if anything, add your PMR to the Software Problem Report documenting the problem in hopes of it being fixed in a later release (if it isn’t already).
Or, if the issue is as I outlined above, as a workaround you can just have the user not expand their Navigation Pane as much.
I hope this information helps Michael!
Have a great day!
