Can't rename person, keeps reverting back to old name

In the NAB I select a person doc, go to Actions/Rename Selected People and take out the XXX in Firstname Lastname/XXX/YYY

seems to be working, no errors, worked on everyone else but there is ony pesky user whose name cannot be changed,

any ideas?

Huh? I don’t see how it could work at all. If the XXX in question is a genuine OU (and not simply a user-unique OU), then you can’t use rename with the Change Common Name option to get rid of it. This is not a rename; it’s a move in the hierarchy. Use Rename with the Move Person in Hierarchy option, and migrate them back to the O.

In Actions/Rename Selected People there is no “Move Person in Heirarchy” option.

Am I looking in the right place?

I was citing from memory; got it wrong. It’s “request move to new certifier” or something like that.
