Can't open DCT database

I have an issue when trying to open the Domino Configuration Tuner for the first time. All I get is a message “Before you can use the Domino Configuration Tuner you need to restart your Notes Client.” …but it does the same thing after restart. I also noticed that on the status bar is says a message “Unable to deploy 1 updated file (probably locked and in use)”. Does anyone have any idea?

Subject: DCT.jar is the likely culprit

There is a weird time change issue such that following an update after going to standard time, that screen reappears.

Please check %notes%\jvm\lib\ext and see if DCT.jar exists.

If it does, please try the following:

Close your Notes/Admin client

Delete DCT.jar

Reopen Notes/Admin client (DCT.jar will get redeployed)

Open DCT you - should be able to continue

On one DCT db, I have the same issue…No idea why :-).

I get the same error and I don’t have a DCT.jar file located anywhere on my client PC.Client = 8.5.2 (Windows 7 - 64bit)

Server = 8.5.1 FP1 (Windows 2003 server)

Subject: Solution

Run Notes with “Run As Administrator” in order to get DCT.jar to extract correctly. Normal user privileges won’t allow it to be extracted.
