This happens using the Eclipse version. Opening nlnotes.exe has not been affected.
I am periodically receiving the “Can’t Find View” pop up when I try to access my Notes 8.02 cal and contacts views. Usually closing down and then reopening fixes it. This morning on bringing up Notes my mail inbox suffered the same thing with an Anonymous title bar. The cal and contacts also did not show up. I have closed 2-3 times now and still no joy. Will “reinstall” to see if that fixes it. Anyone running up against this??
The fix i posted yesterday worked only until you tried to open the mailbox from the desktop again.
I have just upgraded to Notes 8.5 from 8.2 where i allso had the problem. But the installation does not upgrade the mailbox to the new StdR85Mail template. By doing this the problem dissapeared. I must give IBM that they have fixed the problem
I’m on Notes 8.5. I upgraded my template from ISSI yesterday (now its Notes8V3). I can open my local mail by using the ctrl-shift View → GoTo inbox method. Where can I find the 8.5 template?
I tried the previous method (making myself administrator of the mailfile, but this did not resolve the issue).Another search suggested it was a corrupted bookmark.nsf file, I replaced my bookmark.nsf with a blank one.
If you don’t have a blank, deleting the old should allow a blank to be created from the template
Great that worked for me. I suspect it may have been caused due to the user having his inbox set as his homepage - it appears to be a reoccuring problem for this user.
In my case the bookmark.nsf was “locked” for what ever reason by either Lotus or another application even after Notes was closed. After notes was closed, I then ran zapnotes which cleared the problem. Rebooting would have done the same thing. I no longer get the “can’t find view” under the anonymous context. Calendar, Todo and Mail all open fine now.
Subject: Worked Great - wish I’d known earlier - Thanks
Interesting that the database would open just fine on other workstations and that replacing the template and rebuilding the views would not fix the problem.
Same problem running User Client 8.0.2 IFR1 with CCH2 applied.Opening Mail file on Server results in ‘Can’t find view’ pop up box and ‘anonymous’ displays at top of navigation pain. Opening Calendar or other views works fine. Mail file opens fine on other workstations and also opens fine in local replica. Others in the organization have had same problem which (so far) has required reinstalling the client.
