I have a “contacts by name” view. The view has name, address,city,state,zip…etc… Each column heading is set to click to sort. If I click on the city heading, then type the city name, the view brings me to the city I typed. But documents are missing. If within the same view I click back on the name heading of the contact, and type the contacts name, the document appears. The city name is ok, no whitespace, spelling…etc. Why can I see the document in one sort and not the other within the same view? Indexing properties?

The documents in question are probably still visible in the view – just not where you expected to see them.
Are they possibly response documents displayed under their parents?
Do the fields have multiple values?
