I have used webadmin several times to check a problem on the server when I am away… but unfortunately I’m not able to edit (and sometimes I dont even SEE and edit button) while accessing that way.
Is there a trick, a setting, ?? or is this just the nature of that beast?
(and will it be fixed)

Have you checked the ACL Advanced tab and the maximum internet user and and password setting in your address book?

but I wouldnt want to set it to manager, would I?

With Designer access, I now see the Edit Buttons… but when attempting to Edit any doc…(Person or Config) I get the following error:
HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception. Entry not found in index.
Usually means the first column is not sorted… but, it’s teh People view… and the first column IS sorted…
