Can't access the Domino Directory

Hi

I just installed the Domino Access for Outlook product along with Outlook XP.

Sending/receiving mail works great, but I cannot lookup names from the directory. If I click the To button on a mail, I get the dialogue up and the correct directory is selected in the top right but no content appears.

I have also upgaded to Outlook SP1 and then Outlook SP2, but that had no effect.

Similarly when I author an e-mail I have to use John.Doe@domain.com because if I use John Doe/ACME I get an error stating that the address could not be verified.

Note however that I can reply to John Doe/ALTIS because it is underlined and verified.

Do I need to use LDAP. Instinct says no because the MAPI profile specifies the NAB.

Server is configured with DA as well, should this make a difference. The primary domain directory is listed in DA.NSF with the sort order set to 1.

Any thoughts.

Thanks

Mike

Subject: Can’t access the Domino Directory

Hello Mike,

I do have the same problem. While DAMO is working correct with one server, it doesn’t show me any informations from the Domino Directory on another server. The configuration is exactly identical and there is no error at the server console.

And your instinct is right: you don’t need LDAP.

So I’m interested if anybody is having the same problems?!

I have found that this is is caused by some sort of port blocking utility. In our case it was Cisco Security Agent. The DAMO client tries all the servers in the Domino Domain and CSA was only allowing the DAMO client to access one server via port 1352. Disabled Cisco Security Agent and bam, the errors went away.
