I have always the same problem when I try to greate multi purpose groups to receive group emails for multiple users.
I create a new “Multi-purpose” Group which has a general internet address such as info@… and add the resposible members to that group.
But when I try to send a mail trace message to this group or send internet (SMTP) mail to that group it always comes with the following message: not found in Name & Address Book or any Domino Directory Choose Ok …
This message appears by trying to send a mail trace message or send internet mail to that group.
Sorry, but I have no idea what here can be the reasoning problem. Can somebody give me a hint?
Make sure your group name doesn’t have the @ in it… have a generic group name and then put it’s ‘info@’ internet address in the specific internet address field. Assuming you’ve done this, Does the group work inside the network when just using the group name, ie not the internet (info@) address?
If it works inside, but not from outside, check the server config doc. as it probably is blocking somehow.
Thanks fast for the replay. The group name is: info-group. And sending internal mail to this group does also not work. It always comes with the above error message. I tryied it with a mail trace message from the domino admin.
Additional Note: It is cleanly new installed domino enterprise server 7.0.2 with currently just three registered peoples in it.
Only two smtp inbound connection documents where made yet.
Grasping at straws here as to what the issue could be, so basing on problems I’ve had in the past…
-Try it without the ‘-’ in the name. Use an underscore ‘_’ or a ‘.’ instead.
-Make sure your not working with a local replica of the main NAB, it’s easy to accidently switch to the wrong one.
If you’re using dircat, it can sometimes take time to roll changes in. Try telling dircat quit, load it with the -r option (ie ‘load dircat5.nsf -r’), and then make sure and load dircat again when the rebuild quits as it closes dircat. (‘load dircat5.nsf’ with no options). Rebuilding dircat is almost a last resort option as it can take some time even for a small organization, it may be better just let the dircat process to work it out on it’s own.
If none of that works, I’m out of ideas and maybe someone else can assist.
