Some of our users (ones without local admin) cannot open a .jpg attachment from Notes. If they try the get the error ‘No file information can be found in the registry’.
Loooking at this error on google there is a MS technote which involves a registry change. This has already been made. but makes no difference.
If users detach the file and open from explorer they have no problem, only when opening from Notes?
Basically, it’s a registry key permissions problem that was a known issue with NT/2000/XP clients. The workaround works perfectly and you can edit the registry key remotely for immediate effect. No reboot or logout required.
The registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters. You have to give the USERS group Full Control permissions of the key.
