Just upgraded a server from R5 to R7. Much of our legacy XML parsing code now causes the following error.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/lotus/xml/xml4j2dom/XML4JLiaison4dom
This class resides in the LotusXSL.jar, which I can find in the R7 install, but for some reason it does not seem to be recognised. I tried bundling this archive with the agent and then received the following error instead.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/xml/framework/XMLParser
This class is from the XML4j.jar, which again I can find amongst the Domino directories, but it does not seem to be loaded. Bundling this archive with the agent did not help. I also tried adding both archives to the CLASSPATH environment variable as well as the JavaUserClasses line in the Notes.ini with no luck.
If I dump the system property “java.class.path” from the agent, it shows that both archives are in the class path as expected.
The code that causes both exceptions is as follows.
import com.lotus.xml.xml4j2dom.*;
import com.lotus.xsl.*;
XML4JLiaison4dom XMLLiaison = new XML4JLiaison4dom();
XSLProcessor processor = new XSLProcessor(XMLLiaison);
The first line requires that the LotusXSL.jar archive be bundled with the agent before it will compile. This was not the case under R5.
Can someone tell me what is wrong that R7 cannot see LotusXSL.jar and XML4j.jar? Thanks.
