I have a user with an Author Access in ACL, when he create a document and save it, when he open it again, he cannot edit his own document. There are no authors and readers field for the document. I don’t want to add authors field or readers to the document. But it seems that user can edit his own document if he is in Author Access at R5

A common misunderstanding, as the term “Author” does not reflect the English meaning of that word.
In Notes-Speak, Author does not mean Creator.
An Author can only edit an existing document is they are in Authors field in that document, regardless of who created that document.
