Cannot create replica's

2 problems:

  1. not sure if this is a new feature or a bug:

Before upgrading to 8.02 we used to be able to select a database from within admin client and then click file - replication create new replica this option has not disappeared. What happened?

  1. because the above option is not available I am now using the drag and drop option for creating new replica’s. i am trying to create a new replica on our DMZ server for webmail. This server sits on different domain. This used to work fine before the upgrade.

error in admin Db’s:

Errors: Title: Macmillan’s Address Book File name: names.nsf; Error: The name to act on was not found in the Domino Directory.

Action comments: Received the status – Destination does not support RE/FWD status – trying to create mpa\acraig.nsf on mpadmz01/mpadmz; a replica creation request has been generated for further processing.; No valid Cross Domain Outbound Request Configuration document exists for sending Create Replica, Update Delegated User’s Mailfile List, Monitor New Mailfile Fields, or Replace Mailfile Fields requests to the destination server.

Your help is appreciated!

Subject: Re: Cannot Create New Replica

Hi Jean,

I just wanted to check to:

  1. Verify the issue

  2. Post the resolution to the issue if my understanding of the problem is correct so that anyone else experiencing the issue may find the solution.

I am assuming you are referring to how when you go to File–>Replication you do not have all the previous options such a “New Replica…”, etc. (Hopefully the screen shot below can be seen)

If that is the issue and you would like to have those options, the resolution is to go to View and Select “Advanced Menus”. Once that is done, you then have all the options that were previously available. (Again, Hopefully the screen shot works!)

I’ve seen users report this several times and it really is a simple solution.

In any case, I just wanted to add that information in case anyone else runs into this problem.

Regards,

-Bob
