Cannot Create a Local Replica...Keeps fragmenting 2nd POST

I have a user who cannot create a local replica. When ever we do, before we were betting a network connect lost or No such session/session has been closed.

I ran the Fixup and the compact off the Admin program, which helped remove the error messages.

The problem is still occuring though. When the database is being ‘downloaded’ to the computer it is becoming fragmented. I try and run windows Defrag and it cannot fix it. This is causing the local copy to be very slow.

I have a feeling that the server copy is fragmented, but I cannot tell.

Please note that I paused the replica once, ran Defrag, which it did fix the local copy, then proceeded the replica to continuing. I paused it again and it was fragmented again.

Any suggestions?

Fragmentation on the server won’t have any impact on fragmentation on the client. Obviously, the size of the database may be an issue. It sounds like the user’s hard disk is in pretty sad shape overall. If you are using the standard windows defragmentation tool, you may need to use something a little better.
