Cannot assign a role successfully

<disclaimer: I am cross posting between this forum and the Release 6&7 forum, but only because so many people are in that one. Sorry>

In the ACL of a database, I add a person explicitly. I assign them a role. It shows up then and later in the ACL box as assigned.

HOWEVER…@Userroles will not recognize it, nor will the little box that pops up when you click on the Security button in the lower right of the client, where it shows you the effective access.

Other users…no problem…just this user and one other. I can assign them roles all day long, and they do not get it.

Maybe some kind of corruption in their notes.id file? I have tried different computers, so no caching issue that I can see.

Anyone see something like this before?

I have seen similar in two cases:

1)The database was open somewhere else (in designer perhaps)

2)Enforce a consistent ACL was not set.

Neither of these appear to fit your exact situation. And I know you said caching is not at issue. Nonetheless, I would set everything as it should be in the ACL, and then remove all icons, workspace icons and / or links from the users Notes UI, and then re-open it from scratch and re-bookmark it…
