Cange Lotus-Server

HelloI have Lotus 6 installed on a linux-machine and now should change the linux-machine by a more powerful one.

What is the easyes way to have the Notes-Server moved/installed on an other machine with the same configuration?

Could someone give hints or information for this procedure?

kind regards

Subject: new install, copy the data

I’d do a new install on the other machine, copy the datafiles (especially names.nsf and the server.id) and the notes.ini. Then change the ip-address of the new machine to that of the old one, and you’re done.

If the old machine can’t afford any downtime, I’d create a completely new server, with another name, replicate all the data from the old machine to the new one, and then copy the old notes.ini and server.id to the new one. You can then turn the old machine off, change IP-addresses, and have the new server up and running with only a couple of minutes downtime.

Can you see what’s happening before this crash, or is this immediately? Does it attempt to open anything?
